Nominees sought for Community Service Award

The village of West Dundee, along with the neighboring communities of Carpentersville, East Dundee, Gilberts and Sleepy Hollow, is partnering with the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce for the second annual Community Service Award Program in order to recognize outstanding volunteers within the communities.

The village of West Dundee recognizes that one of our greatest assets are the volunteers that put forth their personal time, efforts, dollars and support for community programs and projects. These individuals and programs make our community a truly special place.

The Community Service Award Program provides an opportunity to recognize and acknowledge the volunteers that make our community exceptional, and take note of their dedication to improving the quality of life for the residents of West Dundee.

Members of the community are invited to submit nominations for this award. A copy of the nomination form is available at www.wdundee.org.

The basic criteria for nominations will include years of service to the community, legacy created, and the enhancement and breadth of the impact on West Dundee.

Take this opportunity to nominate or recognize an individual within the community who you believe is worthy of this recognition and gives of themselves selflessly to improve upon our West Dundee community.

Nominations should be received by no later than Sunday, Oct. 5. Please email nominations to villagehall@wdundee.org or deliver to village hall at 102 S. Second St.

Village President Chris Nelson will chair a small committee who will choose the recipient to be honored. This recognition will take place at Randall Oaks Golf Club and Banquet Center on Wednesday, Nov. 19.

A cocktail reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. to meet service award recipients from each community, followed by an awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m.

To purchase tickets for the award celebration, contact the Northern Kane County Chamber at Melissa@nkcchamber.com or by phone at (847) 426-8565.
