Pups will have a howling good time at the Schaumburg Park District

Get your dog in the Halloween spirit at the Howl-O-Ween Pooch Parade!

The event, held entirely for dogs, is set for noon to 2 p.m., Oct. 11 at Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way.

Dogs are encouraged to come dressed to impress in their Halloween costume and be ready to be judged for the most unique get-up. Activities will include agility course, trick competition, pooch parade and an area for free play. The first 50 dogs will receive a special Halloween treat.

"So many people love to dress up their dogs for Halloween and this is their opportunity to show off those costumes," said Doug Sieder, Meineke Recreation Center manager. "Last year we had some great costumes and we think this year will be even better."

All dogs must have current shots. Records must be attached to the registration form or brought to Meineke Recreation Center.

Cost for residents is $2 per person and $5 per dog. Cost for non-residents is $3 per person and $7 per dog. For more information, call (847) 985-2143 or visit www.parkfun.com.
