Theater school to host open house

Vero Voce Theater and School of Performing Arts, 951 State Ave., Suite F, in St. Charles will host an open house and bake sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 4.

Vero Voce School of Performing Arts boasts a fine faculty of music and theater teachers with degrees and many years of both teaching and performing experience. The theater has been open for just over two years and has produced seven Main Stage shows using non-equity actors and seven Youth Theater performances for young actors up to 18 years of age. During the open house, there will be an open rehearsal of the upcoming production of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," as well as open voice and piano lessons. Free trial lesson on piano, voice, percussion and other instruments will be available during the open house.

Special guest Chris Lauzen, chairman of the Kane County Board, will speak about musical theater at 10 a.m.

The bake sale will be on the front lawn, weather permitting. The sale is one of many fundraising efforts to aid in constructing a second theater space on the Vero Voce site. Tours of the planned areas will be available.

Vero Voce Theater was established in 2012 drawing some of the best non-equity actors in Chicago and the western suburbs. More information about the productions and the many other offerings at Vero Voce can be obtained by visiting the website: verovoce.com, or calling (630) 584-0139.
