The Auxiliary at Northshore University HealthSystem (Northshore) Highland Park Hospital awarded Northshore employee Wensheng (Tracy) Wu, RN, a $2,000 scholarship to be used toward tuition and books for the pursuit of education related to the medical field.

"We had so many deserving applicants this year," said Jill Hurwitz, a board member of The Auxiliary at Northshore Highland Park Hospital. "After much discussion, our committee chose a candidate who was not only deserving but who also demonstrated the drive, enthusiasm and work ethic we wanted to reward."

Wu lives in Vernon Hills and has worked at Northshore for nine years, with seven of those at the Northshore Kellogg Cancer Center at Highland Park Hospital.

Wensheng (Tracy) plans on attending Loyola University of Nursing to pursue a master's of science in nursing and become an advanced certified oncology nurse practitioner.

Debbie Greenhill, also a board member of the Auxiliary at Northshore Highland Park Hospital noted, "Serving cancer patients is difficult. Ms. Wu's supervisors affirmed that her performance and the quality of care they witnessed her providing to patients was superior. We are so pleased to present her this scholarship."
