Grammy nominated blues guitarist Billy Flynn and Friends to perform Oct. 24 in Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake - The legendary blues icon Billy Flynn and Friends come to Crystal Lake straight from the House of Blues to give a taste of authentic Chicago Blues.

The Lakeside Legacy Foundation presents Grammy nominated blues guitarist Billy Flynn and Friends and open jam session at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in Crystal Lake.

Nominated for a Grammy for his work on the "Cadillac Records" soundtrack and recently named one of Chicago's top Blues guitarists, Flynn has been influenced by artists like Jimmy Rogers, Johnny Littlejohn, Mighty Joe Young, Luther Allison, and Johnny Young.

Flynn has the gift to make his guitar sing, somehow making the object have as much soul as any weathered artist. Catchy hooks accented by his deep voice make Flynn's act one you don't want to miss. He now tours with up to 30 different bands in one year, saying that he enjoys the challenge of "having to learn new songs every night."

Billy Flynn and Friends will be a soulful night filled with iconic blues. And Billy invites you to come out and play with the pros!

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at www.LakesideLegacy.org or by contacting the box office at (815) 455-8000. If online sales have not sold out, tickets can also be purchased at the door for $20.

The Listening Room is located within Lakeside Legacy Arts Park at 401 Country Club Road, Crystal Lake. Lakeside Legacy is a 501(c)3 charitable organization and is also home to the Historic Dole Mansion.
