Harper volleyball team nets No. 4 national ranking

Harper College's women's volleyball team has moved up to No. 4 in the NJCAA ranking after a strong performance in its own Harper Invite last weekend.

The Hawks went 4-0 and topped third-ranked Rochester Community and Technical College as Meghan Chartier and Kim Butler both earned all-tournament honors.

• The men's soccer team got a pair of goals from both David Bahena and Elliott Lara in a 5-0 North Central Community College Conference victory over Milwaukee Area Technical College on Wednesday. The Hawks are now 3-3-2 overall.

• The Harper women's soccer team has lost three straight. The Hawks (2-4) were outscored 9-1 in those games, with the lone Harper goal coming from Kassidy Kushner.

Nicole Soderholm is certain keeping busy for the Hawks. The freshman goaltender, who red-shirted the 2013-14 basketball season, made 23 stops in recent losses to both Rochester and Madison Area Technical College.
