Report: Arlington Heights one of nation's best towns for couples
Arlington Heights is the fifth best city in the country for couples, according to a new list published by Rent.com.
The list rates communities with a population of at least 75,000, where over a quarter of all households are rental dwellings and the crime rate is equal to or less than the national average. The cities have a large concentration of married adults and a low percentage of divorced/separated residents.
A description of the village on the Rent.com site about the survey says, “The village of Arlington Heights has everything a couple could ever want. A suburb of Chicago, Arlington Heights has something new for everyone to discover, whether you're a long-time resident or have just relocated to the area. Entertainment options range from the Arlington Racetrack to tapas restaurants and piano bars to the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre and the Mitsuwa Marketplace. Couples will be able to find date night activities for every night of the week.”
Beating Arlington Heights for the top spots were Newton, Massachusetts, Staten Island, New York, Edison, New Jersey, and Fremont, California.
Arlington Heights was the only city in Illinois to make the list.
