Woman killed after vehicle struck by train
TAYLORVILLE - A 66-year-old Christian County woman was killed over the weekend after her vehicle was struck by a train in Taylorville, authorities said.
The Christian County Coroner's office said that Kathleen A. Rhodes died at the scene Sunday.
Authorities say the crash happened around 2 a.m. near South Main and Palmer Streets. The Taylorville Police Department and officials from Norfolk Southern Corp. say they are investigating the accident.
The State Journal-Register reported that Rhodes' vehicle was stuck on the tracks before it was hit by the train.
