Gallagher acquires The Benfield Group

Itasca-based Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired health care consulting firm The Benfield Group.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed

Founded in 1989, The Benfield Group is a health care consulting firm that offers research, strategy and communication services for their health care company and large account clients throughout the United States. They specialize in helping health care companies market their value proposition to large employers; conducting consumer, patient and physician research; and providing employers with strategic communications support.

Headquartered in St. Louis, the firm also has offices in Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta.

Chuck Reynolds, Scott Thompson and their associates, will continue to operate from their current locations under the direction of William Ziebell, head of Gallagher's North Central employee benefit consulting and brokerage operations.
