Sheriff: Speed a factor in fatal Beach Park crash
Excessive speed appears to be a factor in a crash early Saturday that killed a 26-year-old Beach Park man, Lake County Sheriff's police said Monday.
Nelson Delgado, of the 37700 Block of Metropolitan Avenue, was killed when the 2008 Acura he was driving struck a tree near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Bonnie Brook Lane in Beach Park, officials said.
According to sheriff's police, the vehicle struck the tree roof first, causing the vehicle to wrap around the tree, and trapping Delgado inside.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff's Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
