Last Arlington High School grads plan 30th reunion

Members of the last graduating class from Arlington High School will come together for their 30th reunion on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The reunion is being organized by a group of 1984 alumni still living in the suburbs, including Lars Ohrstrom of Arlington Heights.

"We're a pretty proud group from the high school," Ohrstrom said. "But, unfortunately, we don't have a building to come back to." Arlington High School - the first high school in Northwest Suburban High School District 214 - closed in 1984. Its building is now home to Christian Liberty Academy.

The 1984 reunion will be from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 121 N. Douglas Ave., Arlington Heights. Registration is still available online at http://www.ahs1984.com with an early bird price of $30 per person until Wednesday.

So far more than 100 people have registered for the reunion. Organizers encouraged people who can't attend to still visit the website and update their classmates on where they are now.
