Key Coghlan homer rallies Cubs past Dodgers

For the second straight day, the Cubs didn't get much of an outing from their starting pitcher.

But left fielder Chris Coghlan's big day bailed them out.

Coghlan's second homer of the game, a 2-run drive in the bottom of the eighth inning, helped rally the Cubs to an improbable 8-7 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Wrigley Field.

The Dodgers chased Cubs starting pitcher Felix Doubront in the third inning when they took a 6-1 lead. On Friday, Edwin Jackson could not get out of the first inning.

But the Cubs chipped away, scoring 1 in the fourth, 4 in the seventh and 2 in the eighth.

Coghlan led off the bottom of the first with a home run. He singled in the third, doubled in the fifth and walked in the seventh.

Arismendy Alcantara hit a 3-run homer for the Cubs in the seventh.
