Glen Ellyn set to welcome three new businesses

From European chocolates to Thai food to yoga, Glen Ellyn residents soon will have some new businesses to check out. Here's a quick look:

• Thai Thai Express will provide easy to-go meals when it opens next week at 654 Roosevelt Road, owner Jim Seriruk said. Seriruk already owns another Thai restaurant in Deerfield.

He said the Glen Ellyn spot will offer favorites like pad Thai and fried rice. Customers can carry out or get their food delivered, and there will be a small dining room for those who decide to take a seat and eat.

• Chocolaterie Stam will sell chocolates, gelato and coffee for local sweet tooths. Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn Executive Director Carol White said the shop is expected to open before the end of the year at 560 Crescent Blvd., next to Sign of the Whale Antiques.

Glen Ellyn Economic Development Coordinator Meredith Hannah said the chocolate will be shipped from Europe, made at a separate store in the U.S. and then sent to the Glen Ellyn sweet shop.

Chocolaterie Stam sells European chocolates, Hannah said, "so I think it adds a new element and another reason to be stopping by in the downtown."

• CorePower Yoga will be a new resource for yoga lovers at 525 Roosevelt Road. The business is expected to open Oct. 12, according to its Facebook page.
