Bridging two worlds

The Chicago-based band Mucca Pazza is one of those “it shouldn't work, but it does” things — a huge ensemble that blends the look and sound of marching bands with soul and punk rock. Horns, strings, electric guitar, drums — all of that (and more) is there. Add in the group's offbeat and energetic live act, and you have one of the most interesting bands around. Mucca Pazza will perform this weekend in Naperville with the acclaimed orchestra Chicago Sinfonietta, a pairing which should make for a singular musical experience at Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Get Blotto

Local favorite Mr. Blotto, a jam band that mixes original material with covers, stops in Lake County this weekend for a suburban show.
