Newark 10, Elgin Academy 1: A big first half for Newark stopped the Hilltoppers (5-3) before they could get going. Elliot Wittmeyer scored on a pass from Karan Gowda in the first half for Elgin Academy. Patrick Westerhoos (10 saves) and Kenny Woltz (5 saves) split time in goal.
Maine South 2, Burlington Central 0: The Rockets (7-2-2) could not get their offense started against Maine South in their first game at the Prairie Ridge Invite. David Murphy was in net for the Rockets and finished with 6 saves.
Springfield 3, Jacobs 0: With nothing going for them offensively, the Golden Eagles (2-11) went down in their opening game of the Hononegah Invite. Combining for 7 saves were goalies Eduardo Guimaray (3 saves) and Ethan Pickering (4 saves).
West Aurora 2, Crystal Lake South 0: A goal each in the first and second halves proved to be too much for the Gators (7-3-1) as they dropped their opener of the Hononegah Invite. Keeper Dalton Kause finished with 4 saves in goal.
Dundee-Crown 2, Unity Township 2: After trailing in the first half the Chargers (9-2-1) came roaring back with 2 goals in the second half to tie it in their opening game of the Hononegah Invite. Goals by Andrew Janikowski and Willie Campos, assisted by Julian Ajroja and Jeremy Jareckyj respectively, ensured the tie. Jose Gonzalez was in goal and finished with 5 saves.
