Celebrate National Women's Health and Fitness Day at Free Event

The Des Plaines Park District and the City of Des Plaines will host the Annual National Women's Health & Fitness Day on Wednesday, September 24, from 3:00-7:00pm at Prairie Lakes Community Center. The schedule of free events includes:

-Women work out FREE in the Prairie Lakes Fitness Center.

-Free! ½ hour Zumba Toning & Gold class, with Cherry Nellessen at 5:30pm.

-Free! ½ hour Cardio Tone, with Susan Gleeson at 6:00pm.

-Free! ½ hour Cycle/Yoga class, with Julie Adams at 6:30pm.

-Park District Personal Trainers, will be doing Body Fat Analysis.

-City of Des Plaines Nurse Madeline May, will be doing free blood pressure checks and distributing great information on health and wellness.

-Dr. Nick Kuennen, The Wellness Source, vibrational massage and other wellness products.

-Kim Salzmann, Wellness Consultant & certified "L.E.A.N. Coach" and Juice Plus representative.

-Des Plaines Public Library: books and DVD's highlighting fitness and health.

-Gwen LaCosse, DoTerra Essential Oils.

-Becky Rohloff, Certified Relaxologist.

-Mary Lee Quaid, Lee Acupuncture & Healing Center will provide information on holistic healthy living.

-Dick Pond Athletic Footwear will provide information on proper sizing and shoes for exercise.

-Diane Ratto, PT, Pelvic Floor Therapist, from Holy Family Medical Center..

-Maureen B. Staunton BS, CRN, RT(R)(M), Breast Care Navigator, from Holy Family Medical Center,

Women's Imaging Department.

-Walgreens Mark the Pharmacist will be offering flu shots during the fair. A nominal fee is charged.

-Kyra Racelis, Vein Clinic of America will provide free consultations and educational material.

Every table has important free information, flyers and handouts about health and wellness for you and your family.
