"Uncommon Threads" fashion-art show returns to St. Charles

Tickets are now on sale for "Uncommon Threads," the annual One-of-a-Kind Wearable Art Show and Luncheon, presented by Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles. Superlative wearable art is the focus of this event, which brings together phenomenal textiles and accessories created by local and national artists.

A juried fashion show is the star of the day. Featuring wearable works of art, all items will also be available for purchase that afternoon.

In its 28h year, this event - Fine Line's prime annual fundraiser - will take place on Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Q Center, 1405 N. Fifth Ave., St. Charles.

In addition to taking place in a beautiful location along the Fox River, Caldwell said it's especially significant to hold this event "close to home. We're a St. Charles business, and we serve the Fox Valley area."

A boutique filled with one-of-a-kind wearable art accessories starts off this daytime event at 10 a.m. A luncheon is served at noon, followed the runway show at 1 p.m.

One-of-a-kind creations are also being raffled off as part of this event. Among the raffle prizes are Fine Line gift certificates, ceramic pieces, jewelry, textiles and more, all created and donated by talented artists.

Tickets for the "Uncommon Threads" luncheon and runway show are $65 per person and are available for purchase at Fine Line, or online at fineline.org/events/uncommonthreads.html. Fine Line is a nonprofit organization. As such, $25 of each ticket purchased is tax deductible.

Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Tickets can be purchased at Fine Line or through the mail, now up to the day of the event, and at Q Center during the day of the show. You need not be present to win.

Fine Line Creative Arts Center is located at 37W570 Bolcum Road, St. Charles. For information, visit www.fineline.org, or call (630) 584-9443.
