Hersey, Wheeling gets MSL East wins

Hersey's girls swimming and diving team picked up a Mid-Suburban East dual win against visiting Rolling Meadows on Thursday, winning 126-56 at Olympic Pool in Arlington Heights.

Winners for Hersey included Olivia Kusio in the 50-yard freestyle (26.02) and 100 free (56.30), Sarah Petro in the 200 IM (2:23.43) and 500 free (5:46.32), Jenny Lutz in the 100 back (1:08.05) and Zeynep Abat in the 100 breast (1:17.93).

The Huskies also posted three solid diving scores in a 1-2-3 sweep from Madeline Bovino (206.85), Kelly Haines (206.30) and Margaret Barton (180.85).

Rolling Meadows' medley relay of Teresa Perille, Erin Pletch, Bailey Rowley and Olivia Hepko won in 1:59.14.

Wheeling d. Elk Grove: Theresa Godlewski and Adrienne Rozmus won two races and Wheeling was able to win all three relays in a 104-73 win at Elk Grove.

Godlewski had the top efforts in the 50-yard freestyle (25.63) and 100 fly (1:02.51), while Rozmus won the 100 free (1:00.27) and 200 IM (2:38.27).

Elk Grove got wins from Madison Schumacher in the 100 breast (1:21.17), and Sara Lasovska in the 200 free (2:15.79) and 500 free (6:15.40).

Conant d. Hoffman Estates: The Cougars managed the top finish in each event in a 134-36 win over the Hawks.

Individual champs for Conant were Sam Wooley (200 free, 100 back), Nia Tsoulos (200 IM), Paulina Wolska (50 and 100 free), Emily Weingart (diving), Allison Cicero (100 fly, 100 breast) and Lea Cejvan (400 free).

Prospect d. Buffalo Grove: Visiting BG got wins from Sarah Morosan in the 50 free (25.69) and 100 fly (1:02.68), but defending MSL East champ Prospect dominated the rest of the meet in a 135-51 decision.

Senior diver Dana Liva put up a sparkling 279.70 to win diving for the Knights. Other Prospect winners included Ellie McGough (200 and 500 free), Rachel Rozow (200 IM and 100 breast), Gracie Dix (100 free) and Besty Rozow (100 back).

Palatine d. Schaumburg: Host Palatine won all three relays in a 115-70 victory over the Saxons.

Pirates winners included Tess O'Brien (50 free, 100 back), Kristin Anderson (200 free, 100 free), Mathilde Mogensen (100 breast), Lily Zahn (200 IM, 100 fly), Jackie Kincanon (400 free) and Andrea Ori (diving).
