Mount Prospect man charged with third DUI
A Cook County judge on Monday set bail at $100,000 for a Mount Prospect man facing a third DUI charge.
Arlington Heights police stopped Dean McKinney, 50, about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday for traffic violations, Cook County Assistant State's Attorney David Shin said.
The officer noticed McKinney had glassy eyes and smelled of alcohol and asked him to perform field sobriety tests, Shin said. McKinney agreed to one test but refused the others and refused a Breathalyzer test, Shin said.
He was charged with aggravated DUI and aggravated driving while his license was revoked.
His background includes a conditional discharge for a misdemeanor DUI in 2005. McKinney was sentenced to three years in prison for a 2011 DUI conviction, according to Shin.
McKinney next appears in court on Oct. 10. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison.
