Men sentenced in 2013 Buffalo Grove burglary

Two men who authorities say were involved in a June 2013 home invasion and burglary pleaded guilty to the charges. Joseph Bonadonna, 19, of Vernon Hills and Patrick Berman, 32, of Buffalo Grove were among several people armed with a baseball bat and a crowbar who broke into a Buffalo Grove home during the early morning of June 11, 2013, prosecutors said.

Bonadonna pleaded guilty to criminal trespass to a residence and was sentenced to two years of probation. He was also ordered to pay $689 in fines. Berman pleaded guilty to residential burglary and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Berman, who received credit for 343 days in custody, was also ordered to pay $704 in fines. He must complete at least 50 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
