Active Parenting Classes

The fall session of the popular video discussion program, Active Parenting Classes of Teens, will meet on Tuesday evenings beginning Oct. 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Elk Grove High School, 500 W. Elk Grove Blvd, in Elk Grove Village.

The course, meant for parents of Grove Junior High School eighth grade students and Elk Grove High School students, will help parents talk to teens about family issues, as well as drugs, sexuality, and the ever-looming threat of violence. Discipline skills that protect and guide adolescents will be discussed. More than 1,000 parents from District 214 and District 59 have benefited from Active Parenting courses over the past six years.

The course will also meet on Oct. 14, 21 and 28. Registration is required. Please contact Sandy Bisinger, Elk Grove High School Social Worker, at (847) 718-4452 or e-mail sandy.bisinger@d214.org, or Elk Grove's Student Services assistant, Barb Jacobus at (847) 718-4422.
