Become an animal detective at the Schaumburg Park District

Look for different clues to track animals at Spring Valley.

Learn about animals and their lives from 10 a.m.-noon, Sept. 20 at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. Children will learn the who, what, when, and where of Spring Valley's animal residents.

Detectives will track animals including deer, raccoons, opossums and coyote.

"Children get to become animal trackers," said Mary Rice, Spring Valley education coordinator. "They'll go on an adventure and follow evidence left by animals to learn all about them."

The animals may not be seen but their evidence will be left behind in the form of tracks, burrows and nests for detectives to evaluate. Class will stop along the way to recreate animal activities while experiencing their habitat.

Cost is $8 for residents and $12 for non-residents. This class is for ages 6 to 9.
