Barrington church to host community environment talk

All are welcome from 4-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 401 E. Main St., Barrington, for a Community Conversation about environmental sustainability led by the Rev. Dr. Terry Gallagher.

Gallagher, a storyteller, will draw on his background as an engineer, business executive, theologian and pastor to examine global ecological destruction and the environmental crisis. He will share his ideas on how we can live in a just and sustainable manner in order to change the trajectory of the planet.

His presentation will be followed by a small group discussion, and will culminate with a large group discussion of the topic.

Gallagher is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and graduate of Doctorate of Ministry at the Chicago Theological Seminary, with an emphasis in developing a prophetic ministry to actively engage Christians in ethical living rooted in Gospel values.

Gallagher brings to this prophetic ministry an unusual and diverse background. His life faith path includes being a member of the Roman Catholic, Lutheran and now UCC denominations. He came into the ministry following a 30-plus year career as a manufacturing executive.
