Envision Eye Center Joins Northwestern Medical Group

Envision Eye Center ophthalmologist Bradley E. Ruff, MD, and optometrist Victoria Haynes, OD, have joined Northwestern Medical Group and will continue to see patients in their Lake Forest and Grayslake offices. Ruff has been a member of the Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital medical staff for more than 30 years and will continue to perform surgery at Lake Forest Hospital and Grayslake Surgery Center.

"Drs. Ruff and Haynes are a respected eye care team with deep roots in Lake Forest and Grayslake, and we are delighted to have them join Northwestern Medical Group," said Michael G. Ankin, MD, FACP, FCCP, a pulmonologist at Lake Forest Hospital and the hospital's vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer.

Ruff and Haynes join the hospital's board-certified ophthalmology team, which focuses on the diseases and surgery of the visual pathways, including the eye, brain and areas surrounding the eye. Lake Forest Hospital ophthalmologists provide specialized care on an outpatient basis and perform innovative therapies in all aspects of eye care. Treatments range from contact lens and eyeglass fitting to Lasik and cataract surgery.

Ruff graduated cum laude from Marquette University and received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School, where he was elected to the National Medical Honor Society. His ophthalmology residency was completed at Michael Reese Hospital where he served as chief resident. Ruff is board certified in ophthalmology and has been in private practice since 1984, during which he has performed thousands of intraocular surgical procedures primarily for cataracts and glaucoma. He began performing refractive surgery in 1991 and has subsequently performed thousands of Lasik procedures. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He was the medical and surgical eye consultant for the Chicago Bears for sixteen years and performed Lasik on a number of Bears players. He has consistently been selected as one of Chicago's "Top Doctors" as published by Castle Connelly Medical LTD.

Haynes received her doctor of optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association. Her areas of expertise include pediatric eye care, contact lenses and low vision, particularly for those patients whose visual needs require more specialized optical and daily living operations.

"We are excited to offer our patients the additional support of the entire Northwestern Medical Group team along with the quality of service and level of clinical experience that our patients have come to expect of Envision Eye Care over the years," said Ruff.
