Six injured in Schaumburg chain-reaction crash

Six people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a chain-reaction crash Tuesday morning in Schaumburg, authorities said.

Four cars were involved in the crash, which was reported at 8:44 a.m., in the left turn lane of eastbound Higgins Road at Martingale Road. The first car, stopped at a red light at the intersection, was hit from behind by the other three vehicles, according to Schaumburg Police Sgt. John Nebl.

Those injured were taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.
