Spanish language church to celebrate grand opening in North Aurora

Cornerstone Community Baptist Church and its sister church Iglesia Bautista Piedra Angular will begin Sunday services in the Spanish language at 12:30 p.m. at the church at 307 Banbury Road, North Aurora.

To get acquainted with friends and neighbors in the area, Pastor Ruben Barajas is inviting the entire community to the grand opening service on Sunday, Sept. 21.

Barajas' message of the gospel will be followed by a time of fellowship with desserts, allowing everyone to introduce themselves to new attendees.

"God has blessed the Spanish speaking community with a fantastic facility to hear the word in North Aurora," Barajas said. "In his sponsorship of our church, Pastor Frank Russo sees the need for bible-based services from a Spanish pastor as an outreach to the community."

The convenience of 12:30 p.m. Sunday service should allow Iglesia Bautista Pieda Angular to grow beyond their current membership, Russo said.

"The North Aurora area has a vibrant Spanish-speaking population and this church gives them a new place for hope, help and prayer. Our membership is praying that many will attend the grand opening and that the gospel will be spread as the Bible teaches us," Russo said.
