Barrington nets Ivanhoe Classic title

The depth of Barrington's boys golf team showed as the host team took top honors in the Ivanhoe Golf Classic on Monday.

Cole Kempinski and Kevin Altenberger had the second-best rounds of the day at 76, with teammates Tim Lim (77), Burke Barsamian (78), Tom Calbi (80) and Joey Batliner (82) close behind.

Kempinski, Altenberger, Lim and Barsamian each cracked the individual top 10.

Barrington's 307 was nearly 20 strokes better than runner-up Stevenson (326), which was led by Jason Gohde and Kameran Sandhu with 79s.

DeKalb (329) was third, followed by Mundelein, which had the medalist in Ryan Magee (74).

Vernon Hills (334) was fifth and had its low score from Brian Favia (79).

Grayslake Central (340) placed sixth and was led by Kyle Reynolds (78).

Libertyville was seventh (345) and counted a 78 from Tony Salazar.
