Mural at Vogelei Park to be dedicated Sept. 20
The Hoffman Estates Park District will dedicate a new mural of the original layout of the Vogelei Farm at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at Vogelei Park, as part of the park district's annual Scarecrow Festival.
The mural was painted on the interior wall of the barn at Vogelei Park by volunteer artist Laura Troisen of Carpentersville, a student at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais.
The Scarecrow Festival takes place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. The mural will be on display throughout the event
In addition to a whimsical display of scarecrows, the free event features activities for kids, food and live music. Billy Croft and the 5-Alarm Band will perform from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
