Boys soccer: Fox Valley roundup Saturday, Sept. 13

Huntley 3, Fenwick 0: Three first-half goals was all the cushion the Red Raiders (2-5-3) needed in a PepsiCo Showdown win over the Friars. Travis Walsh, Aryon Shariati and Michael Zambrzuski all notched goals while Allesandro Vergara and Zack Whitaker spotted assists each. Keeper Michael Parks stopped 2 shots in goal in the first half while Andrew Fulcer completed the shutout in the second half.

Larkin 3, East Aurora 1: Three goals by three different players allowed the Royals (2-4-2) to pick up the victory in a PepsiCo Showdown matchup with the Tomcats. Hector Mendoza, Freddy Jungo and Ricardo Nava all scored as Larkin went up early 1-0 in the first half and never looked back. Alex Cruz added an assist while Leo Perez finished with 4 saves in net.

Crystal Lake South 3, Rolling Meadows 0: The Gators improved to 6-2 overall with a nonconference win over the Mustangs as Orlando Tapia led the way with 2 goals, including a penalty kick. Steffan Harris scored as well. Julio Campos and Ben Nyman each added assists while Dalton Kause earned a shutout with 3 saves.

Harvard 3, Burlington Central 1: The undefeated streak is over at Burlington as the Rockets (5-1-2, 3-1) lost in Big Northern East action. Cole Tecza scored BC's only goal and Ryan Fitzgerald made 4 saves in net.

St. Francis 4, Bartlett 2: St. Francis expanded on its 1-goal halftime lead with 2 in the final 40 minutes for the nonconference win. Timmy Riordan and Saul Espinosa managed goals for the Hawks (2-6) and Tony Estanisalo recorded an assist. Goalie Brian Hollatz collected 2 saves in the first half while Jake Hasenstein stopped 1 shot in second half.

Elgin 7, Woodstock 0: The Maroons (4-4-0) scored early and often to get back to .500 on the year in a nonconference blowout win. Tony Rodriguez scored a hat trick and added an assist with Danial Geory, Ceasar Gomez, Carlos Ayala and Mayo Ajayi each scoring as well. Olairian Ajayi added the lone other assist while Edgar Rodriguez watched his team dominate from goal, finishing with 1 save.

Round Lake 6, Westminster Christian 0: The Warriors (5-6-1) could not stop the Round Lake attack as 6 goals found the back of the net in this nonconference tilt. Sam Carani finished with 8 saves in net.
