In late August we road our bikes along the I&M canal near Utica Illinois. The I&M Canal was built in 1848 to connect the Illinois river to Lake Michigan. We saw lots of wildlife like these turtles sunning themselves on a log floating in the stagnant algae waters of the canal. Eugene Bordelon of Warrenville
