Cary Physical Therapist speaks at Cary-Grove's "Career Day"

John Felbinger, a physical therapist on staff at Cary Physical Therapy for over two years, Spoke at the Cary Grove High School Career Day Event on Sept. 11.

Career Day is an opportunity for seniors to learn more about various careers that they may be interested in pursuing after high school.

Felbinger addressed the academic requirements to become a physical therapist - a seven-year program leading to a doctorate in physical therapy. Job opportunities are plentiful: acute care, extended care facilities like nursing homes, home health care, hospice, industrial and workplace environments, local, state and federal government, outpatient clinics, rehabilitation centers, schools, wellness centers, prevention, sports and fitness centers, and professional sports teams.

"One of the main points that I wanted to stress to the seniors today is that physical therapy is such a diverse and satisfying career," Felbinger said.

After completing a 12-week Internship at Cary Physical Therapy, he graduated with his doctorate in physical therapy from Bradley University in 2012. After passing his boards, Felbinger was immediately hired to join the team.

"My goal is to establish a career and family in the Cary area and to provide best practice, evidence based care for my patients," Felbinger said.
