Boys soccer: Fox Valley roundup Thursday, Sept. 11

Three goals in the second half helped the Dundee-Crown boys soccer team notch a 4-0 Fox Valley Conference crossover win against Grayslake North Thursday.

Willie Campos was the top man with a goal and an assist while Julian Ajorja, Freddy Martinez, Miguel Rodriguez each added goals for the Chargers (7-2). Ivan Sanchez, Ramon Martinez and Jermy Jareckj tallied assists and goalkeeper Jose Gonzalez disposed of 8 shots.

Burlington Central 1, Genoa-Kingston 0: The Rockets (5-0-2, 3-0) stayed unbeaten after Cole Tecza's shot in the 45th minute put Central over the top in Big Northern East action. Ryan Fitzgerald stopped the Cogs 7 times in goal.

Cary-Grove 3, CL Central 0: Josh Gratz was responsible for a goal and an assist in the Trojans' FVC crossover win. Esteban Angeles and Luis Lemus also notched goals for C-G (6-1) while Ethan Csoka stopped 2 shots.

CL South 4, Woodstock North 2: Andrew Grabowski and Orlando Tapia had their fingerprints all over this FVC crossover win. Tapia registered 3 assists against the Thunder, 2 of which came on Grabwoski's 2 second half scores. The Gators (5-2) also saw Stefan Harris and Nikolas Getzinger each score goals while Charlie Ruff notched an assist. Goalkeeper Dalton Kause made 2 saves in net.

Hampshire 0, Huntley 0: Both the Red Raiders (1-5-3) and Whip-Purs (1-4-1) let 80 minutes surpass without any scoring in FVC crossover action. Andy Pederson made 11 saves for Hampshire while Huntley's Andrew Fulcer made 6 saves and Michael Parks didn't have any to stop.

St. Charles East 3, Elgin 0: Maroons goalkeeper Edgar Rodriguez made 7 saves but Elgin (3-4, 0-3) couldn't notch anything in an Upstate Eight River loss.

Glenbard North 1, Bartlett 0: The Panthers slipped a second-half goal passed the Hawks (2-5, 1-1) en route to a nonconference win. Keeper Jake Hasenstein made 11 saves for Bartlett.

East Aurora 1, South Elgin 0: The Tomcats scored the game's only goal in the first half to keep the Storm (1-2-2, 0-2-1) winless in the UEC Valley. Colton Wenig managed 4 saves for South Elgin.

Jacobs 4, Woodstock 0: Noah Melick, Gustavo Valdez, Nick Voss and Andrew Craig scored goals for the Golden Eagles (2-6) in this FVC crossover win. Eduardo Gulmaray had 4 saves in goal.
