Revisit the Roaring '20s at Jazz Age Party in the Park

It's the closest you'll get to partying with F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald in the Fox Valley.

On Sunday, Sept. 14, Tri-City Swing, in partnership with the St. Charles Arts Council, is sponsoring a free 1920s-era event from noon to 5 p.m. in Pottawatomie Park.

The Jazz Age Party in the Park is an immersive 1920s cultural experience for all ages. Dress in your best 1920s Sunday afternoon attire, enter the picnic contest, or submit your family's secret recipe into the pie baking contest.

The Pavilion Stage at the Jazz Age Party in the Park will feature Chicago vintage jazz band The Fat Babies and the dance floor will be jumping' with the footwork of the dances of the era, including Balboa, Lindy Hop, Charleston, East Coast Swing and Shag.

Swing-dance instructors will hold lessons for those who want to join in on the fun themselves. Car enthusiasts can check out a vintage auto exposition featuring cars from the roaring '20s.

There will be vendors on hand serving food. Pottawatomie Park is at 8 North Ave., St. Charles.
