District 211 announces 'Those Who Excel' candidates

Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 is poised to be well represented among recipients in the Illinois State Board of Education's 2014-2015 "Those Who Excel" education awards program.

District 211's "Those Who Excel" award candidates, in alphabetical order, are:

•Sally Cimmarusti, secretary to the superintendent;

•Schaumburg High School Head Librarian Susan Elk;

•Fremd High School Applied Technology Teacher Steve Elza;

•Academy-North Teacher Dane Henning;

•Conant High School Assistant Principal Robert Small;

•Hoffman Estates High School SOAR Core Committee.

"Those Who Excel" recipients will be honored by the Illinois Board of Education at an awards banquet on Saturday, Oct. 25 in Bloomington.

In addition, Elza is one of 12 finalists for "2015 Illinois Teacher of the Year."
