Schaumburg Township hosts Wellness Day Sept. 17

Schaumburg Township will host the fourth annual Community Wellness Day from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17 at township hall, 1 Illinois Blvd. in Hoffman Estates.

Free and open to the public, Community Wellness Day will offer several free health screenings and information from more than 30 local community agencies to promote individual health and safety.

Residents have the opportunity to test free screenings in cholesterol, glucose, hearing, otoscopic, varicose veins, peripheral arterial disease, body mass index, spinal stress scan and blood pressure.

Cholesterol screening is by appointment by calling (847) 884-0030 ext. 3016. On-site pneumonia shots will be offered by Jewel-Osco. Registration is required by calling (847) 942-4840.

Flu vaccinations will be offered at $25 (cash or check) or free with proof of Medicare Part B. In addition, participants can receive a free 10-minute massage, free eyeglass adjustment, sharps disposal and visit numerous vendor tables to learn about services they provide

LifeSource will be on site hosting a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m.
