Jeremy Stom Remembrance Foundation Walk/Run is Sunday

The Jeremy Stom Remembrance Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, located in Hawthorn Woods, will be hosting its Second Experience Hope 5K Run/Walk Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Lakewood Forest Preserve, 27277 N. Forest Preserve Road in Wauconda.

All funds raised from the Experience Hope 5K Run/Walk will be used to help support the mission of JSRF: empowering adolescents in need to Experience Hope by sponsoring participation in recreational activities enabling them to learn life survival skills and grow independently, spiritually, and intellectually.

Over the past three years JSRF has sponsored over 30 teens with limited opportunities to participate in recreational activities. The foundation focuses on youth that may be struggling in high pressure environments. JSRF works closely with local social workers, schools, military service organizations, and Veteran organizations to identify such candidates.

Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. (or you may register online at jeremystomfoundation.org/events). The Fee is $30 with T-shirt, $25 without.

The foundation has partnered with gold sponsor SmoothToe Energizing Sock of Caledonia, Minnesota; silver sponsors Termax Corporation of Lake Zurich, Sunset Foods of Lake Forest, and Road Runner of Kildeer; bronze sponsors Bevel Salon of Wauconda, Butera Decorating of Hawthorn Woods, CCVI Bearings of Lake Zurich, and TreeTime of Barrington.
