Gardening expert seminar

Melinda Myers, a nationally recognized gardening expert, TV/radio host, and author of the "Midwest Gardener's Handbook," will present a free "Fall Prep for a Beautiful Spring Garden" seminar at Pasquesi Home and Gardens, 975 North Shore Drive, Lake Bluff, on Saturday, Sept. 20. The free seminar is from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by a question-and-answer session until 1 p.m. It is open to the public. Myers will share ideas on specific bulb, tree and shrub varieties that do well when planted in the fall. She will discuss the importance of and provide information on proper care for new and established plantings, and the best strategies for winterizing and protecting plants from wildlife and winter weather.
