Pirates prevail over Cubs in extras

Unlike Friday, Saturday dawned bright at beautiful at Wrigley Field.

The Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates picked up their suspended game from Friday and went into extra innings.

Former Cubs prospect Josh Harrison hit a go-ahead bases-loaded single in the top of the 11th inning off Cubs reliever Wesley Wright, and the Pirates went on to a 5-3 victory.

Neil Ramirez, who was on the mound for the Cubs in the seventh inning Friday, continued Saturday and walked Jordy Mercer with one out. Ramirez got Andrew McCutchen to pop out. Mercer stole second base and went to third on catcher John Baker's throwing error before Ramirez struck out Russell Martin to end the inning. Following Ramirez in to pitch for the Cubs were Pedro Strop, Hector Rondon, Brian Schlitter, Wright and Kyuji Fujikawa.

In the regularly scheduled game, Felix Doubront pitches for the Cubs against Francisco Liriano.
