Help clean the river:
Join the Illinois Water TrailKeepers for the fourth annual Des Plaines River Cleanup. The event is set for 9 a.m. Saturday at Riverwoods village hall, 300 Portwine Road. Volunteers will collect items that don't belong in the river for disposal. To register or to get more information, call Tom Reckles at (847) 863-7046.
