Fitness opportunities abound at the Schaumburg Park District

The fitness fun keeps moving this fall at the Schaumburg Park District.

With endless opportunities to get fit and have fun, everyone will find a fitness class that is just right. Fitness Unlimited classes are offered Sept. 2 through Dec. 21 at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road; Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way and Schaumburg Tennis Plus, 1416 N. Payne Road.

Fitness Unlimited gives participants the opportunity to try basic though advanced classes. Participants 14 years and older may purchase punch cards for access to a variety of aquatic and land classes.

"There are so many Fitness Unlimited classes to choose from, you can do just about everything," said Alyssa Danca, District fitness supervisor. "It's having the benefit of flexibility in which classes you try and being able to try multiple types of workouts."

Land fitness classes include but not limited to:

• Basic Training - straight-forward cardiovascular and strength conditioning integrated to increase overall fitness

• Cardio Kick Box - a traditional cardio kick box class with high-energy combinations of kicks and punches

• Step Circuit - combine step, strength, core and more and you get this class

• Warrior Workout - get your heart pumping with a 30-minute high energy kickboxing routine; then enjoy a 30-minute yoga sequence

• Yoga Revolution - start off with a heart-pumping cycle workout and then cool-down with a flowing yoga workout

Aqua fitness classes include but not limited to:

• Aqua Motion - easy to follow, low-impact water aerobics combined with range of motion movements

• Body Sculpting - water aerobics followed by toning exercises using a variety of aqua equipment

• Deep Dynamics - help in deep water with the aid of buoyancy equipment, this workout uses maximum water resistance

• Power Splash - performed in shallow water, this workout includes cardiovascular and strength training and stretching for a total body workout

Participants with a current SPD photo ID card may have punches added to their card. New participants must obtain an ID before class begins. Unused punches may be carried forward.
