North Aurora author to meet teens at Batavia library

Travis Thrasher, author of nearly 30 books, will meet with teens from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave. Thrasher will talk about his two series written for teens and the process of writing and publishing.

Thrasher's first series of books for teens is called "The Solitary Tales." His most recent book, "Marvelous," is the first in his second series for teens called "The Books of Marvella."

According to Thrasher, "Marvelous" is about a guy falling in love with a girl (who believes she's going to die soon) being used by God in some kind of mysterious way. The story includes a murder mystery and other sources of conflict.

Thrasher says that "The Solitary Tales" series is one-part love story and one-part creepy story.

In addition to the two book series, Thrasher has written more than 20 adult Christian novels and "101 Writing Tips," a nonfiction book offering encouragement and motivation to writers.

Prior to becoming a full-time writer, Thrasher worked more than 13 years for Tyndale House Publishers. He grew up around the world, including time spent in Germany and Australia. He now lives in North Aurora.
