Boys soccer / Lake County roundup

Libertyville's boys soccer team won its third straight game with a 1-0 win over Glenbrook South in nonconference action in Glenview on Thursday.

Sam Kratzer scored the game-winning goal off an assist from Trey Touhey in the 61st minute. Sam Muchmore earned his second straight clean sheet with 3 saves.

Vernon Hills 2, St. Catherines 1: At Carthage College, Chris White scored both goals for the Cougars (4-3), and Brennan Reback recorded the win in net with 5 saves.

Deerfield 1, Stevenson 0: The Patriots (2-2-1) surrendered the game's only goal in the second half.

Wauconda 1, Crystal Lake Central 0: Hector Sanchez scored off an assist from Eric Berg in the opening half for the Bulldogs (3-3), who will play in the championship game of their own tournament at 2 p.m. Saturday against Marian Central.

Shane Purcell earned the shutout with a 9-save effort.

Lakes 2, Maine East 1: The Eagles' Zach Espinosa scored on a penalty kick and assisted on Dave Milostan's goal.

Jack Monson made 10 saves in goal for Lakes (1-3-1), which captured its first win of the season.

Lake Forest 2, Niles West 0: Parker Marsh and Keegan Filkin scored for the Scouts, with Matthew Mick and Paul Passalino picking up assists.

Jan Roessler notched the shutout for Lake Forest (3-3).
