Donaldson quickly delivers at Howard

Former Stevenson star Khaila Donaldson, a freshman outside hitter for Howard University, has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference women's volleyball rookie of the week.

The honor is the first of Donaldson's career and the first of the season for the conference.

The 5-foot 11 native of Vernon Hills totaled 40 kills, 36 digs and 9 blocks against George Mason, American and Georgetown in last weekend's D.C. Volleyball Challenge. Donaldson recorded a pair of double-doubles in kills and digs in her first two collegiate matches against George Mason (21 kills and 15 digs on Aug. 29) and American (15 kills and 13 digs on Aug. 30).

Donaldson led Stevenson to a sectional-final berth last year.
