District 211 Foundation 5K fundraiser steps off Sept. 14

Students, staff, parents, and community members can start preparing for a race that will support Palatine-Schaumburg Township High School District 211 programs and schools.

The District 211 Foundation will host its annual D211 Fun(d) 5K Run/Walk Race on Sept. 14 at Palatine High School starting at 8 a.m. Registration is open and individuals can sign up online until Sept. 10. The pre-race fee for adults is $25 and the race day registration is $30.

"I am really looking forward to another fun 5K this year," said Michael Osten, D211 Foundation trustee and member of the race committee. "This year we will have more participants, volunteers, and sponsors. We have a flat race course - great for racers and walkers."

All proceeds will benefit the Township High School District 211 Foundation, which provides resources to enhance and enrich learning opportunities for the students, staff, and the school community.

There will be bagels, fruit and water for race day, a "wow" goody bag, and a lively post-race pizza party with several prizes.

"I encourage all of the students, parents, and staff of our D211 community to come out and support our foundation at the D211 Fun(d) Run 5K," Osten said.

Online registration closes at 10 p.m. Sept. 10. After that date, race-day registration is available on-site beginning at 6:30 a.m. race day. For more information or to register for the race, visit the Fun(d) Run 5K Run/Walk Race website at nwsuburbs.us/d2115k/.
