Prospect prevails at Makray

Prospect, the Mid-Suburban League girls golf champs, came away with two wins at the Makray Memorial Golf Course in Barrington on Thursday.

Knights senior Kacie O'Donnell and Barrington sophomore Reena Sulkar shot 38s to tie for medalist honors.

The Knights won the tri-meet with a score of 180, followed by Barrington (184) and Palatine (242).

Completing the Knights' score card were senior Isabella Flack (39), Sammy Mirasian (51) and Sabrina Accardi (48).

Despite a bogey on her final hole, O'Donnell still tied for top honors.

"Kacie played fantastic all day," said Knights coach Jim Hamann. "She was hitting it great."

Flack was great on her last four holes, going 1-under par,

"Isabella really got off to a slow start which is unusual for her," Hamann said. "We were really proud of her finish."

The Fillies' card was rounded out by Allie Quinn (46), Bailee McDonald (50) and Shivani Majmudar (50).

Freshman Jenny Myslinski paced Palatine with a 57 followed by

Julia Proctor (62), Hannah Colbrook (61) and Maddie Jones (62).

"It's always tough to beat Barrington on its home course," Hamann added. "One thing for sure - our effort is there and we are going to continue to keep searching for the other pieces of the puzzle in our lineup."

at Wheeling:

Elk Grove coach Jon Rowley watched his Grens shoot a program record 177 at the Chevy Chase Golf Course in Wheeling, led by Mia Loxley (41), Erin Walz (42), Sarah Hartness (43).

Hoffman Estates (205) was led by Haenah Kim's 49 and Aashna Singh's 49.

At Buffalo Grove: In the closest finish of the day, Fremd and Hersey both shot 179s at the Buffalo Grove Golf Course with the Vikings getting the win due to the better sixth score.

Fremd' Jaehee Hur, Hersey's Becky Anderson and Buffalo Grove's Jasmine Yi shot 43s to for medalist honors on the par 37 layout.

The Vikings other scores were Haezi Jung (44), Annie Gao (45), Sophia Metallo (47) and Kristina Ferrari (49) and Ann Marie O'Sullivan (52).

Hersey's next five rounds were Maggie Anderson (45), Lexi Heidkamp (45), Megan Kopeny (46), Sophia Cacioppo (49) and Jasmine Lee (55).

The final top three scores for BG were Haeri Lee (44), Grace Gran (48) and Emily Carnes (51).

At Schaumburg: Carly Bryeans shot a meet-best 37 to lead Conant (176) past Schaumburg (204) and Rolling Meadows (218). Jennifer Cappello led the Saxons with a 47 while teammate Trinity Corwin added a 48.

Lauren Hattory's 46 led Meadows.
