Search on for Indianapolis baby reported abducted

INDIANAPOLIS - Police in Indianapolis are searching for a 6-week-old boy whose father told officers was taken when he was attacked while walking in an alley.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert early Thursday for Delano Wilson, saying he is considered in extreme danger. The alert says a white man and a Hispanic woman were last seen with the infant in an early 2000s blue Ford Taurus car.

The child's father told police he was holding the baby about noon Wednesday when he was approached by the man and woman. He said baby was taken after the man hit his head with a gun.

Indianapolis police Sgt. Kendale Adams says a helicopter and search dogs were used during a search of the neighborhood just west of the city's downtown that lasted several hours.
