Des Plaines' Shawn Lane neighbors gather for party

Eating delicious food was an all-day affair, as well as volleyball, bocce ball, baggo, practicing golf swings and just relaxing while visiting with friends and neighbors.

There was bingo, bidding on silent auction items and a raffle on items donated by area businesses. Much of the money raised was donated to charitable organizations. A collection was made of food items and distributed to area food pantries.

Children and adults alike enjoyed the visits from the Des Plaines Police and Fire departments. One and all are looking forward to the 28th block party next summer.
