The Real You - No Limitations

There has been a battle going on against drug abuse in DuPage County for several years, especially since the heroin-related deaths of seven young people in 2011. School and police programs, counseling centers, hospitals, and church groups have been making efforts to help individuals caught up in drug addiction or experimentation.

To join the effort of groups in Naperville working to combat drug abuse, First Church of Christ, Scientist, Naperville has invited international speaker Tom McElroy of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts to give an interactive talk entitled, "The Real You - No Limitations" at the Free Speech Pavilion, corner of Jackson and Webster Streets, on the Naperville Riverwalk on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 3pm. In the event of rain, the talk will be given in the Community Room in the lower level of the Nichols Library, across the street from the pavilion. Live music will start at 2:30pm.

McElroy stated, "Awareness of the universal truths regarding our established spiritual nature frees us from limiting fears and misconceptions, including what can seem like the impossible grip of addiction, and helps us experience more of our infinite potential."

After years as a chaplain in men's, women's, and youth facilities, McElroy is now a Christian Science practitioner and member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, where he talks and prays with people all over the world, helping them find spiritually-based solutions to challenges ranging from health and finance issues to drug abuse and relationship difficulties.

Many individuals are finding that gaining an understanding of their spiritual nature can play an important role in their fight against drug addiction. Finding the unconditional love of God can also be an important part in filling the void of the guilt and isolation of drug abuse.
