Des Plaines has hired an economic development coordinator to assist the city's efforts in bringing businesses to town.
Lauren Pruss, who has been an economic development professional and planner for 16 years, will begin her new role in Des Plaines Sept. 8.
"Ms. Pruss is an accomplished municipal planner and economic development professional with diverse experience and a proven record of achievement," City Manager Mike Bartholomew said in a news release. "She will round out our development team and be a positive addition to our staff as a whole."
Pruss, a Hanover Park native, has been planning division chief for the city of Gaithersburg, Maryland since 2007. Previously, she was assistant director of community development in Elgin.
