Gurnee-area man accused of drug crimes

Cocaine and marijuana confiscated in a bust last week near Gurnee led to multiple charges filed against one man.

The Waukegan Police Department's gang intelligence unit, using a search warrant, entered a home on the 36000 block of Traer Terrace in an unincorporated area near Gurnee, police said in a news release.

They found about 180 grams of cocaine and 15 grams of marijuana, as well as $5,000 in cash, police said. Francisco Sosa, 34, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, and unlawful possession of cannabis.

Sosa remains in Lake County jail on $200,000 bail. He's expected to be in court next Sept. 10.
